John "Tree" Smith joins Hood Memorial Hospital Board

John "Tree" Smith of Amite has been appointed to serve on the Hood Memorial Hospital Board. Smith is a retired deputy clerk for the Tangipahoa Parish Clerk of Court's Office. He is pastor of Mt. Canaan Baptist Church in Arcola and has served the community in numerous volunteer positions, including Amite City Police reserves, Amite Bitty Basketball Association, and Tangipahoa Parish Recreation District #3. His appointment was ratified by the Tangipahoa Parish Council at a recent meeting.
