Hammond Square developer Jimmy Maurin says Hammond Square has posted "remarkable" performance in 2020, despite worries that COVID-19 would negatively impact retail in our area.

"Hammond Square has probably performed better than any shopping center that we (Stirling Properties) own in any of these four states," Maurin told AN17.com in an exclusive interview earlier this month.

Maurin said Louisiana's second-largest open-air retail development did "extremely well" in 2020, adding six new tenants who opened their doors, even in the middle of COVID-19. Five more are opening in 2021, and Maurin said it's possible that they would have opened in 2020, had the pandemic not happened.
