Know a student who wants to be an entrepreneur? Students in grades 8 – 12 can now apply to attend the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!). YEA! is a fun, hands-on program that meets weekly after school and helps go-getters in grades 8 – 12 identify their passions, transform their ideas into fully formed businesses or non-profit organizations, and develop lifelong leadership skills. During the Program, which is similar to SHARK TANK, the students will connect with local legendary entrepreneurs, pitch to investors for start-up funding and compete for college scholarships.
In partnership with Southeastern Louisiana University and the Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC), the classes will be held at LSBDC’s office at 514 Martens Drive, Hammond, LA, on Tuesdays, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.; the first class is September 13, 2022.
For more information and to apply, visit www.yeanorthshore.org. Space is limited; the deadline to apply is August 24 or when the class is full, whichever comes first.
