Robert Wayne Young

Robert Wayne (Wayne) Young of Albany, Louisiana, passed away Friday, March 10th, 2023 at the age of 73. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Iddo Young, and his mother, Maude Marie Darbonne. He is survived by his brothers, Walter Iddo (Iddo) Young, Jr. and Leroy Timothy (Tim) Young; six nieces and nephews, Brian Young, Kenneth (Aaron) Young, Melissa McConnell, Mary Kathryn Young, Brandi Eppolito and Todd Hudson; and eight great-nieces and great-nephews. Wayne was born in Hammond, Louisiana on March 25, 1949. He was a lifelong resident of Hammond and retired from the Hammond Developmental Center in 2004. A former member of Trinity Baptist Church, Wayne was a man of faith. He enjoyed time alone reading his bible, fishing and rocking on his front porch.

A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
